Course Description

General Biology introduces the student to basic concepts and principles of biology from the structure and function of the cell to the organization of the biosphere.  Through this course, students will gain an understanding and appreciation of how life originated and developed on earth.  Students will also relate advances in the biological sciences to applications in industry, medicine, and environmental issues.
