Licensed Practical Nurse/Licensed Vocational Nurse

Duties for the LPN/LVN will include providing age-specific care based on Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) Army Community Hospital Outpatient Clinics; specific health care provider's orders; the physical, mental and emotional needs of the patient; and the policies and procedures.

Qualified candidates will have the experience and ability to perform the following procedures:

  • 12 Lead EKG
  • Urinalysis dipstick
  • PAP/Pelvic examination/PAP smears
  • Hemoccult testing
  • Eye, Throat, Nasal and/or Wound culture,
  • Visual Acuity checks
  • Orthostatic (tilt) vital signs
  • Wound cleaning/Dressing changes
  • Phlebotomy
  • Eye, Wound and Ear irrigation

In addition, LPN/LVN must have experience in:

  • Sterile prep for minor surgical procedures
  • Medication administration per licensure and certification.
  • Administation of immunizations to all age groups with appropriate medical record review
  • EMR, Patient History/Medication reconciliation/Physical assessments/Assess vital signs
  • Perform appointment setting through use of CHCS as needed in support of clinic functions.

Normal duty hours for the Outpatient Clinics are 0730-1630 Monday through Friday (excluding legal federal holidays).

Contract employee may be asked to work adjusted hours instead of normal duty hours to meet patient demand and hours of the clinic supported.

This includes a 60-minute lunch break, which is not paid by the Government.

Normal hours for Soldier Readiness Processing are 0830-1700 Monday through Friday. This includes a 30-minute lunch break, which is not paid by the Government.

Qualifications

  • LPN/LVN trained at an accredited Nursing Program, with an Associate’s Degree in Practical Nursing.

  • Current and unrestricted license in any of the 50 United States, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, Guam, or the U.S. Virgin Islands and be able to obtain clinical privileges to individually practice medicine

  • BLS

REQUIREMENTS: 

High School Diploma or Equivalent

Basic knowledge of hand tools is essential

Mechanical aptitude and ability is necessary

Must be able to communicate in written form as there are documents to fill out and maintain in this area

EXPERIENCE:

Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred

Experience in a food plant preferred

MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES AND DUTIES INCLUDE:

The quality of the product and packaging must be observed, and any deviation from the norm must be reported as soon as possible to the Shift Supervisor.

Strict adherence to and understand of both the FDA-GMPs and the SQF standards as it relates to the Packaging areas in order to ensure that program is being properly executed.  Detailed training will be required of this position as their will be several of our facilities CCP (Critical Control Points) that are directly with the duties of this position.

The monitoring of product, labels and packaging.

Recording and reporting of packaging output verbally and in written communication form on the documents provided.  Must adhere to facility SOPs on documentation and follow standard training that will be issued in this area.

Responsible for housekeeping of the working area.  This includes, but not limited to sweeping the floor around the packaging machine area, removing the trash, preparing for next day’s/shift’s production, and finalizing paperwork in an accurate, clear, and concise manner. 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE:

Daily lifting of product and boxes ranging from 1 pound to 50 pounds from table level to floor and above head as often as once every approximately 15 minutes.

Constant walking and standing required.  Climbing up and down ladders or stairs required.   Must be able to continually bend and stoop for length of shift.

Must have the ability to maneuver and move within an area of approximately 18 inches when work on the machine platform is necessary.

Must be able to work in an environment where the indoor temperature range is from 80 to 100 degrees F in summer and 50-65 degrees F in winter.

Job Purpose/Summary:

This position is part-time; averaging less than 30 hours per work week. This position could work in any department of the production facility; Processing, Ground Beef or Value Added. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Positions may involve the use of a knife and hook to bone out or trim meat, sorting, labeling, bagging and boxing various meat cuts or the use or operation of powered equipment, such as saws, skinners, Multi-Vacs, Cryovac machines etc.  Most positions require the ability to push, pull, carry and lift 40 pounds or more and use of hands and arms above shoulder level and walk and stand 8-12 hours a day on a hard surface.    Work is performed in cold/wet environments.

Must be able to work safely in a fast-paced environment; wearing all safety equipment required.  All positions will be for either A (day) or B (afternoon/evening) shift.  The facility runs 5 to 6 days a week, Monday-Friday/Saturday with some areas of the facility that may work an occasional Sunday.  Previous knife skills are preferred but not required.  

All job offers are based on conditions that the candidate can pass a urinalysis screening, which is part of the post- offer health assessment.  Mechanical aptitude, skills and experience preferred but not required. Applicants who have worked for Tyson 3 times will not be considered.

General Description:

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provides emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service.
  • Performs mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair of all facility equipment.
  • Reads and interprets equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
  • Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments.
  • Contacts and schedules vendors and contractors for necessary building repairs and emergencies that are outside the scope of routine maintenance.
  • Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties.
  • Detect faulty operations, and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision.

Principal Activities

  • Review and obtain the required information from tool drawings and models, fixture drawings and models, part prints and models, and associated documents in the development of efficient CNC programs and related materials.
  • Work with operators, supervisors, engineering, other programmers, and any other area to optimize old and new processes and assist in training of these processes.
  • Determine methods, tooling, feeds, speeds and all other necessary requirements necessary for efficient manufacturing of parts.
  • Recommend new or revised tooling, fixtures, equipment, software, and any process improvements to support manufacturing and its customers.
  • Keep supervisor informed of operations, problems, and opportunities as they arise.
  • Take positive action to advance personal knowledge of manufacturing technology, CNC programming, CAM software, DNC technology, and related information.

  • Varied CNC operating experience desirable.
  • Experience machining a variety of materials including but not limited to aluminum, steel, stainless steels, etc.

  • A high degree of computer literacy is required.
  • A Self-starter, high energy, innovative thinker with disciplined and persistent work style and has a keen attention to detail

Education & Experience

  • High school graduate or GED equivalent is required.
  • Manufacturing technical degree (2 year) is desired
  • 5-7 years CNC machining experience and 2 – 5 years CNC programming experience highly desired.

  • General math, geometry, and trigonometry experience is required.
