CNC Programmer and Designer

 Employee will develop CNC programs and models, evaluate, troubleshoot, and recommend CNC machine tools, utilizing computers and CAD/CAM software.

Principal Activities

  • Review and obtain the required information from tool drawings and models, fixture drawings and models, part prints and models, and associated documents in the development of efficient CNC programs and related materials.
  • Work with operators, supervisors, engineering, other programmers, and any other area to optimize old and new processes and assist in training of these processes.
  • Determine methods, tooling, feeds, speeds and all other necessary requirements necessary for efficient manufacturing of parts.
  • Recommend new or revised tooling, fixtures, equipment, software, and any process improvements to support manufacturing and its customers.
  • Keep supervisor informed of operations, problems, and opportunities as they arise.
  • Take positive action to advance personal knowledge of manufacturing technology, CNC programming, CAM software, DNC technology, and related information.
  • Maintain appropriate records and documentation to assist in the control and evaluation of programming operations.

 

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

Knowledge Skills & Abilities

  • Varied CNC operating experience desirable.
  • Experience machining a variety of materials including but not limited to aluminum, steel, stainless steels, etc.
  • Tooling and fixture design desirable.
  • A high degree of computer literacy is required.
  • A Self-starter, high energy, innovative thinker with disciplined and persistent work style and has a keen attention to detail
  • Track record of continuous improvement.

Education & Experience

  • High school graduate or GED equivalent is required.
  • Manufacturing technical degree (2 year) is desired
  • 5-7 years CNC machining experience and 2 – 5 years CNC programming experience highly desired.
  • Fusion 360, Language based, or Graphics based CAM programming software is helpful.
  • General math, geometry, and trigonometry experience is required.
  • Requires extensive knowledge of machine processes, capabilities and resources available.

The Field Service Technician must perform scheduled maintenance, troubleshooting, part replacement, and retrofits as necessary to maintain quality and availability for our customer.  Must maintain safety and professionalism and keep accurate and detailed records of parts used and work performed.  Technicians report to the site manager and/or site lead and communicate any needs and safety issues that may arise in a timely manner as part of the SGRE team. 

Responsibilities

  • Ability to analyze and resolve problems with developed problem solving skills independently and efficiently.
  • Must be willing and able to work in stressful and sometimes dangerous situations, and in all weather conditions with varying work hours including overtime.
  • Must deliver quality in all job aspects in a timely manner while maintaining safety at all times.
  • Willing and able to climb 85m ladders daily.
  • Flexibility to work outside of planned ours and willing to take on additional assignments as needed to maintain a high quality wind project for our customer.

Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience

  • Minimum of 1 year of wind technician experience Or equivalent wind certification.
  • Must demonstrate knowledge and understanding of hydraulic schematics and electrical schematics. 
  • Must have experience in electrical, HVAC, or aviation field, or possess a renewable energy technology certificate or equivalent.
  • Physically and mentally able to climb wind towers up to 300 feet sometimes multiple times per day.
  • Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent. 
  • Required to maintain a body weight of no more than 265lbs as required by safety equipment restrictions.
  • Willing to travel up to 100%.
  • Able to pass a physical examination annually administered by a medical examiner to ensure ability to safely perform job functions and handle the stress and physical demands of the position.
  • Must maintain a clean driving record and pass pre-hire and random drug screenings.
  • Qualified Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States. Qualified Applicants will not require employer sponsored work authorization now or in the future for employment in the United States.
  • Individual must possess a valid Driver's license in good standing.
  • Individual must be at least 21 years of age in order to participate in the required Siemens vehicle plan.

Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience

  • Experience as a troubleshooting technician in Siemens wind turbines preferred or 2 plus years hands on work experience in the field at a wind power site.
  • Relevant work experience e.g. electrical, mechanical, hydraulic maintenance/troubleshooting in a military, industrial, or automotive setting.

Examples of Essential Job Functions: Assists Plant Operator and Fireworker in the operation and inspection of such equipment as boiler feed pumps, circulating water pumps, condensate pumps, fans, feed water heaters, steam turbines and generators, and combustion turbines and generators; operates and inspects auxiliary equipment such as water pumps, air compressors, oil pumps and other plant auxiliary equipment; per¬forms routine inspections of the above equipment; observes pressures and temperatures of the turbine and other equipment and keeps such records; routinely performs water chemistry testing and chemical additions to correctly maintain boiler water, condensate, cooling tower water, evaporator water, makeup water, zeolite water, demineralized water, and steam; operates boiler bottom ash removal equipment and fly ash removal equipment; operates feeders and related equipment of the refuse derived fuel handling system; operates light vehicle to travel to remote locations for inspections and equipment readings; records data relating to auxiliary equipment of the power generating system. Performs general maintenance duties as required; lubricates auxiliary equipment.

Education and Experience: High school diploma or G.E.D.; courses in steam and mechanical fundamentals of power plants or power plant experience desirable.

Licenses and Certificates: Must possess a valid driver's license.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of the principles, methods, procedures, and practices used in the safe operation of the electrical power genera¬tion plant; knowledge of the machinery and equipment used in electrical power generation; knowledge of water chemistry and testing as it applies to an electrical power generation plant; knowledge of all safety rules as stated in the adopted safety manual.

Skill in the use of common hand and power tools; skill in the maintenance of simple records; skill in the application of safety practices and procedures.

Ability to recognize an emergency condition and react quickly; ability to make minor repairs to power plant equipment; ability to work safely with and around mechanical equipment; ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions; ability to operate light vehicle; ability to work effectively with co-workers.

Supplemental Information

Required Physical Activities: Climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, finger¬ dexterity, grasping, feeling, talking, and hearing.

General Physical Characteristics: The work involves sitting 25 percent of the time; sitting and using arm/leg controls 5 percent of the time; standing (but not walking) 35 percent of the time; standing and walking 35 percent of the time; frequently lifting objects under 10 pounds; routinely lifting objects from 10 to 25 pounds; occasionally lifting objects from 25 to 50 pounds; and infrequently lifting objects over 50 pounds.

Environmental Conditions: The work is performed inside and/or outside and includes being exposed to extreme heat, noise, vibration, mechanical hazards, chemical hazards, atmospheric conditions that affect the respiratory system or skin, oils, requirement of wearing a respirator, confined spaces, and darkness or poor lighting conditions.
